Last week I had the opportunity to attend the annual Urban Sustainability Directors Network (USDN) conference with sustainability staff from around the country and Canada. It is an amazingly supportive community that shares successes, failures, and identifies ways we can work together on climate action. I was fortunate to share one of our major successes, the formation of the Eastside Climate Partnership, along with colleagues from Sammamish (Rose Weiker), Redmond (Jenny Lybeck) and Bellevue (Sofia Fall). Together, our communities are advancing residential electrification, commercial energy efficiency programs, climate education and outreach, and collecting data to inform decision-making.

Some days, the view from "the office" can be more exciting than others. The picture doesn't quite do it justice: this was a very close and very unexpected encounter, perhaps less than 30 feet between us at one point. Meetings like this are a stark reminder of the privilege and responsibility of living, working, and recreating in the home of these impressive beings. How much do you know about these neighbors?
