In 2023, Napa Recycling and Waste Services recycled or composted over 180,000 tons of materials, reducing CO2 emissions by 176,403 metric tons. This is the equivalent of: 🏠Saving enough energy to power all Napa homes for 4.5 months 🚗Taking 37,453 cars off the road These measures have also created over 340 full-time jobs in the recycling, composting and reuse economy.     Yesterday, staff members from our Human Resources Department and Napa Police Department hosted a recruitment booth at the Santa Rosa Junior College Job Fair. Our Recruiters spoke with students about the wide variety of career paths offered by the City of Napa including our current openings for Police Officer Trainee, Water Distribution Operator I/II, Firefighter & Firefighter/Paramedic, Engineering Assistant, and much more.     [para español👇] 📢⭐ City Council Community Update! ⭐ Check out the following updates from the September 17 City Council meeting. 📜 Proclamations: Napa City Council proclaimed September 15 - October 15, 2024 as Latinx Heritage Month. Council also presented a Certification of Recognition in honor of Joseph Peatman. 🗣️Administrative Report: Napa City Council authorized the City Manager to join the City of Napa in the United Against Hate campaign. Council received and discussed financial updates as part of the Economic Development Dashboard and received a supplemental presentation from Robert Eyler, PhD, regarding the City's key performance indicators and economic trends. Napa City Council also received a report on the planned event activities for the 2025 Fourth of July and provided feedback to staff. 📈 Presentation: During the afternoon session, the Napa City Council received a presentation from the employee culture team about the future of the culture program and the development of a Mission Statement and Core Values for the City of Napa. during the evening session, the Council heard a presentation on the City’s Homeless Encampment Management Policy, from Deputy City Manager Molly Rattigan 👥 Consent Calendar: Napa City Council adopted a resolution approving the 2024-2026 City of Napa Conflict of Interest Code as required by the Political Reform Act. Council adopted a resolution approving the CDBG Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) and a resolution authorizing acceptance of two Easement Grant Deeds over portions of Napa Valley Wine Train, LLC for public recreational purposes for a segment of the Napa Valley Vine Trail. 🎥 Watch the City Council meeting at: https://lnkd.in/dH4WBRFZ

The Administrative Secretary serves as a key role in the Police Department Administration Division by working closely with our Police Chief and members of Command Staff, including Police Captains, Police Lieutenants, 911 Communications Manager, and Police Records Bureau Administrator to support the needs of the department. The Administrative Secretary provides a full range of highly complex and confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Police Chief, and their respective department which requires effective time management and organization skills. As an Administrative Secretary, you will report directly to the Police Chief and support the Police Department with a wide variety of assignments including recordkeeping and department personnel administration, assisting with Public Records Acts requests, performing receptionist duties, explaining administrative policies and procedures, preparing correspondence, reports, meeting agendas, and minutes, and special projects as assigned. You will work independently, take initiative, exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and serve as a liaison with other City departments and staff, outside agencies and the general public. Responsibilities also include regular contact with government officials such as City Council, Board and Commission members, representatives of business or community organizations, news agencies, the public and all levels of City personnel to share information and respond to inquiries.    Napa Police Department is looking for a team player with strong communication and collaboration skills who is dedicated towards public service. To apply the concepts they learned in the classroom, participants worked in groups to develop and present a project that would transform the structure and culture at the City of Napa.
