Welcome to Waco, Chief Walker! Scott Walker, Waco's 14th fire chief in the City's 150-year history, was sworn in and is ready to lead the Waco Fire Department. Chief Walker joins us from the Phoenix Fire Department, where he worked for over 30 years. He worked his way through each rank from Engineer to Executive Assistant Fire Chief. He was selected from a pool of 60 applicants after the City of Waco conducted an extensive nationwide search. Waco Fire is a department of over 220 employees, operating out of 13 fire stations, with another under construction. #wacotx #wacotexas

Employees enjoyed donuts with City Manager Bradley Ford at our quarterly Donuts with the City Manager. Waco staff members from all levels and varying departments are randomly selected for this one-on-one time. They are encouraged to ask questions, learn about new initiatives, and let the conversation take them wherever it leads! We appreciate the City of Waco employees and want them to know they are important to our organization and success.

Recently, the Waco community gathered at Bell’s Hill Park for a ball field makeover reveal, thanks to a partnership between the Bobcat Company, Chip Gaines of Magnolia, and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)! The City of Waco and Bobcat are renovating the ball field at Bell’s Hill Park, which has hosted baseball and softball practices and games for more than 80 years. Improvement projects such as this make a huge impact on the Waco community and provide the opportunity for youth sports and recreation.
