City Colleges of Chicago is the largest community colleges system in Illinois and one of the largest in the nation, with over 4,000 faculty members and staff serving more than more than 80,000 students annually at seven colleges and five satellite sites. With locations across the City of Chicago, the seven colleges include Richard J. Daley College, Harold Washington College, Kennedy-King College, Malcolm X College, Olive-Harvey College, Harry S Truman College and Wilbur Wright College. CCC also oversees the award-winning Washburne Culinary & Hospitality Institute, the French Pastry School, the Parrot Cage Restaurant at South Shore Cultural Center, the Sikia Banquet Facility, five Child Development Centers, the Center for Distance Learning, the Workforce Academy and radio station WKKC FM 89.3.

With the support of the Chicago Roadmap, our comprehensive partnership with Chicago Public Schools, 18-year-old Antoine Young is building his career in construction. Antoine is currently enrolled in our 10-week Aim to Launch (A2L) program, which is preparing him to start a one-year youth apprenticeship in construction management this fall. Today, we were proud to add another option for students to our growing list of transfer partners. Our new agreement with Valparaiso University provides guaranteed admissions and other support, including scholarships, for eligible students studying Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Management, and Marketing. “Valparaiso University is a place where our students can uncover their passion and learn... Congratulations to our partner, the Chicago Apprentice Network, for surpassing their milestone of connecting more than 2,000 students to apprenticeships in the Chicagoland area. Through our collaboration, we have been able to support students like City Colleges of Chicago-Wilbur Wright College alumnus John Williams by providing a no-cost education and paid on the job training. John is now a full-time analyst at Accenture, where he continues to grow his career. We look forward to providing hundreds more of our students with pathways to good-paying, in-demand jobs through apprenticeships in the years to come. https://lnkd.in/gVz6WdcW

City Colleges of Chicago-Kennedy-King College student Cassia Clark showcased her talent in front of thousands of Chicagoans and visitors from across the world this weekend. The digital artist recently won NASCAR's King’s Hat Design Challenge, and as a result, her Chicago-centric design was featured on The King’s Hat Statue in Grant Park during the NASCAR Chicago Street Race. “I love to make beautiful things and share them with the world," said Cassia. City Colleges of Chicago-Richard J Daley College hosts an international delegation from Germany, Mexico, Taiwan, and Canada to tour our state-of-the-art Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Center and see first-hand what our students are doing in class. Demonstrations included robotics, welding, and programable logic controllers (PLC).
