  • Council Member Jennifer Paul was invited to visit Mercury Marine in St. Cloud today, as part of the company's celebration of Black History Month. Council Member Paul worked at the manufacturing facility in 2005 and credits her time there for launching her career in the manufacturing industry, culminating in her working in manufacturing for the Department of Defense. The local plant, which employs about 180 people, manufactures components for boat motors, and is undergoing a 25,000-square-foot expansion. Council Member Paul taped a video for the company's employees, during which she spoke about her time as an employee there, and her journey to becoming a St. Cloud City Council member. She also was treated to a tour of the facility and visited with employees she knew from her time working there, including Minne Brown, a 40+-year Mercury employee. "This is where I learned the knowledge and skills for manufacturing," Council Member Paul said. "I brag about Mercury all the time. I never forgot where I learned the manufacturing world." We appreciate all that Mercury Marine brings to our local economy and are grateful to them for inviting Council Member Paul today!
