👋 Meet Errin Crawford, one of the many faces of the #CityofTulare! Errin is a Building Inspector for the City of Tulare’s Community Development Department. He performs routine to complex combination inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial building sites to enforce building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, housing and environmental codes, and other governing laws and ordinances including basic zoning, grading, and fire, and safety regulations; ensures conformance with approved plans, specifications, standards, permits, and licensing; provides a variety of information to property owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors; issues building permits. Errin is always helpful and goes the extra mile. We interviewed Errin and here's what he had to say: ▶ How long have you worked for the City? I started with the City with the Parks Department in February 2023 and had an opportunity to briefly work with the tremendous people out at our Corporation Yard. In May 2023, I had the privilege of joining the Building Division and for the last year have worked along side the great people here at City Hall. ▶ Where are you from? Born and raised in Tulare. ▶ What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Going to the gym, taking my family to random events like the rib cook off down town that just passed and studying up on building codes to improve myself as an inspector. ▶ What is your favorite part of your job? Interacting with our community and assisting them in safely building projects of their dreams. ▶ What does your daily routine look like? I arrive at City Hall early to prepare for my day and open the doors at City Hall to allow the community and my coworkers access to the building. After that, our Building team huddles up to game plan for the day and get in some education time. Education time is where we discuss different scenarios and problem solving strategies that come up throughout the building process. Then it's out in the field until our daily inspections are completed. ▶ Is there any other information you’d like to share about yourself? Having worked side by side with many of our Cities departments, I know what an honor this nomination is and I’m sure it's always a tough choice on who to select because of all of the hard working men and women the City of Tulare employs.
