We are thrilled to announce Harvard Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation has published a new report authored by our founder Ashley Spillane on the influential role that celebrities can (and do) play in promoting civic participation in the United States. The study, Celebrities Strengthening Our Culture of Democracy, explores past efforts by celebrities to promote civic engagement. For the report, we spoke with 15 managers, publicists, nonprofit partners, philanthropic advisers, and celebrities themselves about civic engagement initiatives undertaken by Taylor Swift, Kerry Washington, Billie Eilish, Trevor Noah, Hailey Bieber, David Dobrik and Questlove. Check out the full report at https://lnkd.in/gBfdef74 as well as CNN's coverage by Elizabeth Wagmeister here: https://lnkd.in/ebW8wCkf A huge thank you to all those that helped get this report out into the world! "Businesses now stand atop government, media, and other sectors as the most trusted institutions. With this trust, employers have a moral and strategic imperative to take stock, plan, and lead on the promotion of a well-functioning democracy." Last week, NationSwell released Civics Inc. (https://lnkd.in/gyUkue-M) a report highlighting how businesses across the nation can enable civic participation and help promote a healthy democracy during the 2024 election season. So great to see our partners, BallotReady, Power the Polls, Civic Alliance, and National Voter Registration Day shouted out in the report as key nonpartisan partners to promote civic participation!

Thrilled to have Center for Tech and Civic Life named among some great other groups as a vetted partner that promotes election information accessibility, transparency, and quality in NationSwell ‘s latest report. This report helps employers understand how to promote a healthy democracy in a tense time in our country - and is a great complement to the work of some of my former colleagues at Civic Responsibility Project and Civic Alliance. Businesses play a critical role in preserving our democracy, and a fair playing field where all voices can be peacefully heard is truly good for business.

Allow us to re-introduce ourselves! At Civic Responsibility Project, we believe: 🗳 Civic participation should be a celebrated and accessible part of everyday American life. 🗳 Brands have unrealized potential to engage employees, consumers, and followers in our democracy. 🗳 Whether it’s voting, helping others register to vote, or serving as a poll worker, we all have a role to play.
