An amazing week with our amazing Civilian Aides! Thanks to all who were able to attend!
It’s been a week since the Association of the United States Army - AUSA Annual Meeting began and I’m still going thru photos and business cards. There’s never enough time to connect with every program partner, see all former colleagues, or attend alll of the educational sessions, but the #1 thing I always regret is not having more time with our US Army Civilian Aides! I brag a lot on here - not about me, but about my job. Because I have the best job in the world. And it’s because of our CASAs! These selfless men and women of the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army program (and we’re up to 25% women!) volunteer their time to help connect their communities to our great military. They help tell the real Army story by dispelling myths and helping roll out new policies; they support our recruiters and connect with our educators and industies; and they help assist our Soldiers and their Families, serving as rhe Secretary’s sensors. And they do it unpaid. They came to AUSA at their own expense to talk about the CASA program, and learn about new Army policies, and connect or Re-connect with senior leaders to increase their impact. My heart was filled with the number of stories people told me about their own CASA or wanting to BE a CASA and seeing so many CASAs recognized throughout the week. I often joke that on any given day I have 120 3-star equivalent bosses or 120 3-star employees, but more importantly, I have 120 friends! ❤️ Here are a few of my friends at work!
