This summer, I had the pleasure of working with many of Clark Pacific’s engineers and project managers in the process of designing, casting, and performing QC duties with 50-kip reinforced concrete shear walls for one of their current projects in Idaho. This process included drafting in AutoCAD, checking various construction set and panel drawings, providing deliverables, collaborating with engineers on design changes, and other miscellaneous tasks involved with project management and construction.
Working at both their plant in Woodland, CA and their head office in West Sacramento, CA, I gained a comprehensive learning experience that focused on each facet of their design, management, and manufacturing process. This included hands-on, interactive examining of panels at the plant, as well as an in-depth perspective of each engineering process in the office.
With reinforced precast concrete being Clark Pacific's specialty, I gained a great deal of valuable knowledge and experience in this field as well. This included the design specifications of many different types of steel reinforcement, as well as methods and practices for pre-tensioned and post-tensioned concrete panels.
Overall, I had an amazing experience interning with Clark Pacific, and am very grateful for the opportunity to work with many of their incredible employees!
