It’s #NationalSafetyMonth’s “Slips, Trips, and Falls” safety week! At C/S, we prioritize safety above all else, and this week we are highlighting our prevention measures for slips, trips, and falls on our job sites. These types of incidents can happen in an instant, but with proper precautions and training, they are entirely preventable. Our Superintendents emphasize the importance of ladder safety and fall protection, key components of our safety orientation that every team member undergoes. We also utilize yellow safety stickers on hard hats as a visual cue to indicate who is fully trained in site fall protection. We are thrilled to announce that Westbrook Elementary School has won the Structural Engineering Excellence (SEE) Award in the New Construction Category from the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) / Structural Engineers Association of Central California (SEAOCC). A special thank you to Degenkolb Engineers, particularly Jason Scanlan for their innovative structural work on this project. Your expertise in designing the 52,000-square-foot, wood-framed educational facility has not gone unnoticed! We also extend our gratitude to our design-build partners, Architectural Nexus, for their collaborative spirit and dedication. Together, we faced budget challenges and responded with cost-effective design solutions, including pre-fabricating all shear walls on-site prior to completing the foundations, speeding up construction. This project stands as a testament to what we can achieve with innovative thinking and teamwork. Kicking off the "Roadway Safety" weekly topic for #NationalSafetyMonth, we're proud to support the Nevada Chapter AGC's "Respect the Cone: My Family Needs Me Home" campaign! This vital public awareness initiative aims to foster a culture of safety within roadway and highway construction work zones.
