Usually, I’m not one to post on social media often, but inspiration struck! With all the anti-remote-work rhetoric out there, I wanted to share my experiences working remotely while traveling in Malaysia with my husband this month. Spoiler: remote work 𝘤𝘢𝘯 be productive and rewarding if you’re well-organised and dedicated. Shoutout to Sinch ClickSend for empowering remote work and trusting us to deliver impact from anywhere. I’m grateful to have found a company that supports this flexibility and to work with such a cool team! Without further ado, here are 3 tips for anyone who wants to take the plunge and work remotely abroad. 𝟭. 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘆 🚃 When traveling for work, prioritise locations with access to essentials! Book accommodations near reliable co-working spaces with secure WiFi, just in case there’s a power cut. Trust me, it’s worth it. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗟𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 😅 so I hopped across the street to a co-working space. No disruption to my team or projects! While tourist-heavy areas aren’t always ideal on holiday, they usually have better infrastructure and transport, making life much easier when you’re working. 𝟮. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 “𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲” 🏡 Unlike holiday planning, you’re not on the hunt for the best value hotel; you need a place you can comfortably work from. Stable and secure WiFi is a staple in most accommodations, but the third factor to look out for is 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱! Many Airbnb hosts are now accustomed to remote workers, so they can usually run a 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 for you and send you the results before you book. 𝟯. 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝗻 🗺️ Even though you’re in an exciting place, remember you’ll still be working full-time, so 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹. Plan your “must-do” activities in advance so you can make the most of your free time. We like saving spots on Google Maps so we can quickly pick a nearby restaurant or attraction without any hassle after work. That’s it for now! If anyone has more tips on work & travel, I’d love to hear them in the comments.

Last week, the Sinch ClickSend Senior Leadership Team gathered in Perth, Australia, for our annual offsite to set the stage for an impactful 2025. We took a hard look at our 2024 performance, planned our strategy for 2025, and mapped out key objectives to drive growth. 📈 Plus, the team had the privilege of learning about local Noongar culture from Elder Dale Tilbrook. 🎉 #WinTogether #Planning #GrowthStrategy
