Separating the Misinformation Chaff of #RenewableEnergy
At Cloudbreak Energy, we make a distinct effort to hear all voices, particularly with our landowner community (our clients) who deal with countless challenges in agriculture, oil and gas, ranching, and other verticals which we cannot pretend to have experienced first-hand. However, we also do our best to deliver unbiased facts about renewable energy, hopefully absent of political seasoning. This report from the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law from Columbia University Law School addresses some of the specific "bombast' we encounter in the solar field such as claims of electromagnetic fields generated by solar being harmful to human health, leaching of heavy metals from panels to underlying soil and water, and adverse impacts of ground-mounted solar systems to biodiversity. The Sabin Center's report, authored by Andy Fitch, Matthew Ard, Kaya Sittinger, and Samuel Lavine, methodically and credibly addresses each of these instances of misinformation, along with others. We hope this serves as a valuable source of reference to our clients, our partners, new entrants to the renewable energy field, and those driving energy policy for the United States.
