About us
At ComEd, we believe in being an energy partner, not just an energy provider. Being a provider means we deliver electricity to over 4 million customers across northern Illinois, which accounts for about 70 percent of the state’s population. We do so safely and reliably because we are driven by the innovation that comes from the industry expertise our employees offer. And we're committed to pursuing best-in-class performance so that our customers receive the quality service they expect and deserve. We have championed investments in technology that help shorten outages and make them less frequent, and those investments empower our customers to make smart choices about energy usage. Being a partner means we also help our customers discover new ways to save money on electric bills, while also showing how they can help the environment by decreasing their carbon footprint. We also support a range of initiatives that make a difference in people’s lives. Our commitment focuses on education, environment, arts and culture, and community development. At ComEd, #PoweringLives isn’t just a motto. It is the driving force behind everything we do. Learn more about ComEd anytime at www.ComEd.com.

We’re honored to join school district, community leaders and EV stakeholders in celebrating Herscher Community Unit School District No. 2’s new #EV bus barn – the largest single EV school bus site in the state! The district also unveiled 25 new LionC all-electric school buses, built by local EV manufacturer Lion Electric! We proudly supported the launch of this new, all electric vehicle barn by livening over 2 dozen chargers in the EV bus depot earlier this year, and provided infrastructure enhancements to enable on site charging, supporting the district in ensuring students can get to and from school safely and sustainably. “ComEd is proud to power the new all-electric buses at Herscher School District, which is demonstrating how to use clean energy technology to drive down emissions in pursuit of a cleaner, more resilient future for their students and broader community,” said Louie Binswanger , our SVP of Governmental, Regulatory and External Affairs. “With EVs on the rise in northern Illinois, ComEd remains committed to working with our communities and partners across the state to ensure the grid is prepared to reliably meet the demands of our customers today, and well into the clean energy future of tomorrow.” As part of our commitment to the #EV transition in northern Illinois, we launched nearly $90 million in rebates earlier this year to help our customers make the switch, including those purchasing commercial fleet vehicles like school buses. Since we launched our programs, we’ve incentivized over 2,200 new chargers, more than 100 new fleet vehicles on the roads today, and we’ve reached nearly 300 unique zip codes with funding for EV projects. Our efforts are supporting an equitable transition across all communities. Learn more today at ComEd.com/Clean.
