Roedd y gwaith a ariannwyd gan ein cronfa ymgysylltu â'r gymuned yn cynnwys ystod eang o weithgareddau, gan gynnwys barddoniaeth, celfyddydau gweledol, ffotograffiaeth.... a cherddoriaeth, a brofodd i fod yn ffordd boblogaidd o gynnwys dinasyddion yn ein sgwrs genedlaethol. Following a two year national conversation with the people of Wales, today we have published our final report 📄 The final report concludes that enhancing devolution, a federal system and independence are all viable options for Wales’ future. (Keep reading to find out more about each of the options) It also recommends further powers are needed urgently in specific areas of justice, policing and rail infrastructure, to meet the needs of people in Wales. Option 1: Enhanced devolution It would mean more decisions affecting Wales are made by the Senedd and Welsh Government, and the UK Government would have less of a role in running Wales. This option would be economically stable and largely risk-free, without requiring a referendum. It would not fundamentally change the fiscal and economic position of Wales in the UK economy. Option 2: A federal system Under a federal structure, the UK constitution would be changed so the UK Parliament is responsible for UK wide matters only, and the Senedd, Scottish Parliament, Northern Ireland Assembly and English Parliament are responsible for national matters. A federal UK offers an accountable ‘middle way’ with more potential benefits than enhanced devolution, whilst carrying less risk than independence. This option does face obstacles as the rest of the UK would need to agree to the changes. Option 3: Independence Independence would mean making Wales its own sovereign state, independent from the UK, which could apply to join the United Nations. An independent Wales would offer the potential for long term positive change giving Wales the opportunity to shape its own constitution. However, it carries the highest risk to Wales economically in the short to medium term. For further recommendations on Wales future, read our final report. #ShapingOurNation 👇 https://lnkd.in/dJs96auD
