We’re committed to supporting local nonprofits that work on some of the most critical issues in our area. One of our regular partners in this work is LifeSpring Community Health. LifeSpring demonstrates the love of Jesus Christ by providing exemplary pediatric, community, and behavioral healthcare for the families they serve. Recently, LifeSpring has been growing, increasing their capacity to support the mental wellness of our neighbors through multigenerational services and partnerships with the City of Chattanooga, The Glendwood School, and Hamilton County Schools. First Baptist Cares is the nonprofit outreach arm of First Baptist Church- both are led by Pastor/Dr. William Ladd (who is tri-vocational and is also full-time staff member at Woodmore Elementary). Their most impactful work over the past few years has been through their mental health initiative. They’ve organized a group of therapists of color and have connected families in need with licensed therapeutic support. They’ve made strides in destigmatizing the use of mental health support in the Black community and in helping clients appreciate how unaddressed trauma can have a cumulative negative effect on all of life. Their mission is to connect the underserved and marginalized within our community with essential living and life resources to flourish socially, economically, and spiritually.
