The article features Millennium Surgery Center, our ASC partnership with Bon Secours Mercy Health and physician partners in Greenville, South Carolina. 🎉 Congratulations to Compass Surgical Partners President and Co-Founder, Sean Rambo, whom the Triangle Business Journal honored with a 2024 Healthcare Leadership Award.   Sean reveals in the TBJ article what first sparked his interest in a career dedicated to developing and managing ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs)— 🎾 a love for tennis since his youth. As a young athlete with occasional orthopedic injuries, Sean became familiar with the work that physicians and outpatient surgical teams do, as well as the facilities that help them do their very best work. Once he had earned his dual Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Health Care Sciences (MHS) from the University of Florida, Sean dedicated his career to developing and managing ASCs that improve the lives of patients and providers. When Sean co-founded Compass Surgical Partners in 2011, one of his first projects was developing an ASC in his Raleigh, North Carolina hometown. Since Capital City Surgery Center first opened in 2012, physicians and staff at the ASC have healed more than 95,000 Triangle-area patients. We couldn’t be prouder! Jennifer Jacobson, RN, BSN, Vice President of Clinical Operations and Quality, is a ‘Patient Safety Expert to Know,’ according to Becker's Healthcare. Like other nurse leaders who drive patient care excellence at our ambulatory surgery centers, Jen brings skills and qualities she honed as an OR nurse and director of nursing to her patient safety work. Jen understands that creating a patient culture of patient safety starts with analyzing and acting on hard data. But to be truly impactful, patient safety leaders must have the emotional intelligence and communication skills to help teams master patient safety skills.
