Cone Denim has taken the next step toward increasing renewable energy usage and reducing greenhouse gas emissions with the construction and launch of its first rooftop solar project in Jiaxing, China.  The solar panel initiative will generate 9 MWH of electricity annually. Brad Johnson, Vice President of Manufacturing at Cone Denim, estimates that this new clean energy source will provide a 17% reduction in the plant’s annual GHG emissions. “The installation, alongside our other efforts like Zero Liquid Discharge at our plant in Parras, Mexico, proves our efforts to maintain our reputation as a sustainable supplier committed to trust, traceability and transparency,” stated Johnson. “With the solar panel addition, we hope to serve as a leader in sustainable offerings and innovations, while continuing to inspire change across the industry.” Learn more on our website: https://lnkd.in/eanabEjA -- #conedenim #denim #sustainabledenim #sustainablesupplier #solarpanel #solarpower #ghg Elevate Textiles

This edition of Kingpins Show's One Denim collaboration tells the story of versatility using Cone Denim's Stout fabric. The collection embodies the idea of sustainable design that avoids overdevelopment. Piero Turk and Cone curated and co-designed each silhouette, then sent the garments to Tonello for their industry-leading sustainable wash to complete the final look. This collection sets the bar for sustainable development and collaboration across the supply chain. “We hope this collaboration gives you a visual story of how one fabric can transform into many interpretations, without constraints. Meet Pierette Scavuzzo design director at Cone Denim and hear about her vision for the fabrics used for the ROOTED collection. 💙 Cone Denim’s history is Rooted in workwear. Their first fabric ever produced was for workwear garments, intending to be strong, durable, and comfortable for the worker. Fast-forward over 130 years, Cone Denim continues to supply to workwear brands and is still innovating in the space. The fabrics curated for this collection were chosen based on criteria of having sustainable components, being durable, and bringing a stylistic aspect to AMK Atelier’s workwear capsule.
