"It is great to have details of the programme and the priorities for investment confirmed, allowing us to move forward collaboratively to create a vision and plan for Skegness," - Chris Baron, Chair. Connected Coast and East Lindsey District Council have welcomed details of the Government's Plan for Neighbourhoods programme which includes Skegness. We will be working on developing Skegness' plan for the previously announced funding over the coming months - and at the heart of this will be community feedback and involvement. About us
Our vision for Mablethorpe and Skegness is that they will make their distinctive contributions to a Connected Coast, renewed and refreshed as settlements through a programme which: diversifies their economies, builds their skills base and establishes them as national test beds for future living and natural resource management. They will become places where positive ageing, a cutting edge approach to tourism and innovation around energy and water management turn current weaknesses into nationally significant strengths.

Work has started at Alford Manor House The programme of improvement works is now underway at Alford Manor House! Thanks to Government funding secured by East Lindsey District Council, works have started on site which will help preserve the heritage and expand the uses of this important attraction in Alford. Following the approval of planning and listed building consent last year, works are now starting to happen on site. Once complete, there will be a new permanent function space to extend its uses all year round. The scheme also includes relocating the kitchen and toilets as well as other improvements. The first task is the installation of new, efficient radiators. They will help reduce the running costs at the Manor House and ensure it is a warmer environment for all. Councillor Graham Marsh, Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, Leisure and Culture and Carbon Reduction at East Lindsey District Council, said: "Starting work on site is an important milestone for this exciting scheme. Thanks to the Government funding secured by this council, a new function space and other improvements are helping this important attraction which brings footfall to the town centre, supporting the local economy. “This investment will safeguard the legacy of this historic landmark for future generations, transforming Alford into a vibrant and captivating destination that will inspire and attract visitors from near and far." Richard Quantrell, Alford Manor House Trustee, said: “We are all very pleased that the improvement works at the Manor House have now started. The first job has been the replacement of the electric storage heaters in the House which had come to the end of their useful lives. “The new Dimplex electric heaters that have been installed, which can be controlled either individually or by way of a networked system, will be much more efficient and cost effective than the old ones. Electric will only be used when and where it is needed which should significantly reduce our heating costs.” You can follow along the journey of Alford Manor House here: https://lnkd.in/efCessuz Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government ALFORD MANOR HOUSE LIMITED Sam Bevin Sadie Russell MCIPR Rebecca Harris Tara Todd

We’re building a £15 million campus in the heart of Skegness! 🏫 The new campus, supported by a £14 million government-funded Connected Coast Town Deal, is set to make a huge impact in the community, offering further and higher education tailored towards vocational skills training to meet local needs. Having gained planning permission from East Lindsey District Council last year, works by Hobson & Porter are now almost halfway through on the Wainfleet Road site. Take a look at our state-of-the-art facilities! We’re creating an inspirational space where local people can get the skills, knowledge, and training they need to access the employment opportunities they want.
