Cultivating Inner Capacities for Regenerative Food Systems
About us
The Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA), convened by UNDP, is a movement of food, agriculture, and consciousness practitioners united around a common goal: to support people from across food and agriculture systems to cultivate the inner capacities that activate systemic change and regeneration. It aims at establishing the cultivation of inner capacities as a key evidence-based approach to envision and create regenerative food systems, while building legitimacy and understanding for this approach. CoFSA does this by: - Convening a Community of Practice and Learning: CoFSA brings together an intentional community of peers, supported by a collaborative digital platform, where individuals and organizations can connect, learn and exchange knowledge, support and inspire each other, and collaborate to build conscious food systems. - Pioneering the application of consciousness approaches and practices: across food systems, through a global portfolio of interventions, including the delivery of trainings, coaching and facilitation services, supported by research and learning frameworks.

🌱 Cultivating change at the Oxford Real Farming Conference (ORFC) 2025 The ORFC —the world’s largest agroecological gathering—brought together nearly 2,000 farmers, food producers, and advocates to drive action for a just and resilient food system. At this year’s event, the UNDP-convened, Conscious Food Systems Alliance Alliance (CoFSA) and Animate Earth Collective, co-organized "Listening to the Land," a session engaging over 120 participants in deep conversations regarding our connection to food and Nature. "The Listening to the Land strand of the conference came out of a desire from delegates to address (…) how a more mindful, conscious, even heart-based approach to our work can support the transformation of our food and farming system," said Francesca Price, Real Farming Trust Executive Director. 🌳🌿 Consciousness and Forests: A Symbiotic Connection Forests—nature's guardians—are essential for our planet, providing life-giving oxygen and nurturing diverse ecosystems. Yet, our current food systems drive deforestation, threatening these vital allies. Let's shift our consciousness to see forests as communities we tend, not resources we take. Together, we can embrace regenerative practices, protect "Mother Trees," and foster sustainable food systems that harmonize with nature. Share this message on #ForestDay and let's act for a thriving planet! 🌳🌱 📸 Ed Van Duijn

🌾 How can we honour and reconnect with the land? The way we grow, share, and consume food is deeply connected to our relationship with nature. But to truly transform food systems, we must look beyond policies and economics—we need a shift in mindsets and values. "We know our connection to land, nature, and food is critical, yet expressing this and integrating it into our work remains a challenge. Creating spaces for these conversations is essential to shaping the future of food systems", stated Andrew Bovarnick, UNDP Food Systems Global Head. That’s why UNDP’s Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA) was created—to bring together members worldwide to lead the way towards regenerative, agroecological, and nature-connected food systems.
