The longer a business runs, the clearer its ideal customer becomes. PR agencies are no different. Over time, I've become firm about the clients we take on. However, a common scenario repeats itself: a CMO or department head is eager to launch a PR strategy, and we move through the usual steps—RFP, SOW, contract, kickoff—only to discover that someone higher up either doesn’t believe in PR or won’t make time for it. This can kill a PR strategy. Executive buy-in is essential. At Convey, we no longer work with companies whose CEO or leadership isn’t invested in PR’s success.
