We had a blast at our family event at our Kariya, Japan facility this month! We showed our loved ones around the factory, where they learned about our cool products. Families also had a chance to learn about and experiment with our technology in our science workshop. We also had fun activities and booths hosted by our various clubs, such as the Cat Lovers Club, the Motorcycle Club, the Board Game Club, and the Coffee Lovers Club. The kids especially loved the giant soap bubbles we set up outside! We ended the day with a delicious meal and a group photo. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event so special! We are Better Today because We Take Pride in What We Do. #BetterToday #FamilyDay #Kariya #PrideInWhatWeDo

In the late 1940s, a bank in Denver came up with a novel idea to encourage kids to open savings accounts and save money. Empire Savings partnered with Coors Porcelain to make clown banks that were given free with a new savings account. There were two models available in five different colors. Children would fill up their clowns with coins and when they would bring it in for deposit, they would break it open and give them a new one. No wonder it is hard to find these coin banks today! CoorsTek continues to meet the needs of its customers by having one of the largest portfolios of processes and methods in the industry. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/er-2a5AK #tbt #TechnicalCeramics

Did you know that in advanced semiconductor fabs, vacuum break filters help maintain air purity levels as stringent as ISO Class 1? That’s fewer than 10 particles per cubic meter, making these filters unique and essential for the production of chips that power our everyday devices. Vacuum break filters are installed in processing chambers to prevent particulates, moisture, and contaminants from entering the vacuum environment during a break or interruption and equally important to diffuse gas flow during the chamber venting step. This is especially critical in processes like wafer production, where even the tiniest impurity can cause defects. The vacuum break filters allow for faster venting times without creating turbulence. CoorsTek vacuum break filters are ceramic diffusers used in deposition and other vacuum processes to enable quick, clean venting of vacuum chambers. They reduce particles on wafers for higher yield, and speed chamber venting for higher throughput. What a blast we had at the hydration dunk tank in Oak Ridge, TN! Our awesome Safety Team came up with this cool idea to beat the summer heat and have some fun. Everyone from day shift to night shift enjoyed the Kono Ice truck and the chance to dunk our managers and EHS specialists. Plus, we raised money and supplies for back to school. Thank you to all who organized, participated, and donated. Way to go, team, you make a splash in our CoorsTek family! #BeatTheHeat #BetterTogether

What do you get when you combine a high-voltage application with the need for thermal shock resistance? This may sound like the beginning of the world’s worst dad joke, but it's actually a common challenge when designing medical equipment. Fortunately, this challenge can be overcome through the power of technical ceramics. Materials such as alumina offer extraordinary thermal properties, and protective coatings can be applied to alumina components to avoid the effects of electrostatic discharge in high voltage situations. CoorsTek ArcResist™ protective coating makes it possible to retain the intrinsic insulating and mechanical properties of high-purity alumina compositions while offering tailorable dissipative or conductive properties.
