Leslie, your words deeply resonate with us. Grief is indeed a profound teacher, shaping us in ways we never expected. We’re honored to have you share your journey and insights at our National Symposium of Traumatic Loss and Grief Support. Your courage and commitment to helping others move forward with hope and purpose are truly inspiring. We look forward to learning from you and believe that your story will touch many hearts and offer hope to those navigating their own grief journeys.
The hardest teacher I’ve had in my life is grief. I didn’t get to study for that final exam. And yet the lessons I’ve learned have stuck with me. They’ve helped me recognize that if we live long enough we’re going to lose someone we love. Let that sink in as you think about every important relationship in your life. Someone has to die first. Either they lose us or we lose them. We don’t get to choose the order, but we do get to choose what we do with that loss. As for me and my house, we choose to take it and help others move through their own losses so they don’t get stuck in their grief. So it doesn’t take them under. I want to thank the Cornerstone of Hope for inviting me to share a bit of my grief journey with them. At The National Symposium on Traumatic Loss this week. And it’s my prayer that something in my story. Helps someone in the audience move forward. Because we never get over our grief. But with love and support, we learn how to move forward with a new sense of purpose. #GriefIsAJourney #CornerstoneOfHope #TraumaticLoss #AustinsStory #LesliesHope
