About us
CORRAL is a faith-motivated nonprofit that equips adolescent girls in high-risk situations through a long-term, holistic program of equine therapy and education to prepare each girl and her community with skills, resources, and opportunities so that she can gain access to a bright future. We provide a holistic, long-term intervention that leverages a research-validated resilience framework for change. Our therapists are licensed professionals and our staff, passionate and highly qualified. Participants are referred to CORRAL from agencies within their communities, including Human Services, local Police Departments, Juvenile Justice, and school administrators. We are a preventative diversion program and, therefore, strive to create an environment for lasting healing and freedom from risky behaviors. Candidates are selected through an application process which measures their levels of risk and commitment. Selected participants will demonstrate both a high level of risk and a high level of commitment. Once asked to join the program, participants must commit to a minimum of one year, however, the vision is to shepherd each girl through the remainder of her middle and high school years.

Lauren's journey exemplifies the theme of coming full circle, as she transitioned from an eager volunteer to Executive Director. CORRAL's mission resonated deeply with her, reflecting the way her mother worked endlessly to provide resources and support for her. Did you know horses can sense your heart rate from 8 feet away? We learned that wonderful nugget of wisdom and more when we visited CORRAL Riding Academy. It’s important for us to build relationships across the community because there is no one-size-fits-all solution to addressing teen mental health. Collaboration is everything and I’ll continue to say that until I’m blue in the face!!! If you haven’t learned about all the amazing services at CORRAL Riding Academy, please reach out to their team!

In the heart of every great organization lies an individual whose passion, dedication, and leadership inspire change and foster growth. For CORRAL, that individual is Lauren Clements. Her journey with CORRAL as a humble, dedicated volunteer, eager to make a difference in the lives of youth in high-risk situations, to the esteemed position of Executive Director is not just a tale of personal achievement, but a testament to the transformational power of grit and grace. "On behalf of all the alumni we acknowledge the foundation Joy and Lauren have created here at Corral. They have both been instrumental anchors for the programs and our growth, with that we truly be our trust behind Lauren as she leads us into the next chapter and know she truly understands the heart of Corral and all our dreams. " { Jamie, CORRAL Riding Academy Alumni } Lauren, the entire community is excited about your vision of CORRAL's future. https://lnkd.in/gNSy5pGd
