Fueling operations at home and abroad: We recently delivered 25 million gallons of diesel and jet fuel to our U.S. Navy partners via the Crowley-managed Stena Polaris. Positioned at Point Hope, Alaska, our ATB Aurora/Qamun is double-anchored and poised to deploy its hoses for the 1,050,000-gallon delivery to the community. Engineered specifically for such tasks, the ATB deploys its bow anchor to establish initial positioning, then maneuvers in reverse to deploy the stern anchor. This method effectively secures the vessel in a parallel alignment with the shoreline, safely keeping the hose in the same position throughout the operation. Orchestrating one of the most complicated fuel delivery systems in the nation is how Crowley safely delivers vital high-quality fuel where it’s needed most.
