Rost and several industry colleagues. https://lnkd.in/ezSeUFmp #ClimateWeekNYC #CrownHoldings #Sustainability #Decarbonization #Aluminum
Aluminium industry leaders convened at #ClimateWeekNYC to discuss accelerating the decarbonisation of the aluminium value chain through visible innovation, integrated procurement strategies, and cross-sector collaboration, while addressing regional disparities in recycling, energy access, and regulatory frameworks. In a panel hosted by the International Aluminium Institute (IAI), the executives called on each other to demonstrate the leadership needed to push ambition and demonstrate an economically viable transformation pathway for the sector. cc: Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), Rio Tinto, Norsk Hydro, Crown Holdings, Inc., Mercedes-Benz AG, Ball Corporation, CBA | Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio, Novelis #Wearealuminium #sustainabledevelopment #leadership #aluminium

Earlier this week, Crown representatives in Europe attended the opening ceremony of Constellium's new recycling center in Neuf-Brisach, France. Poised to become a leading aluminum processing facility that is highly focused on beverage cans, this center demonstrates how Constellium (supported by a grant from the France Relance investment program) is paving the way for can-to-can recycling. With the capacity to recycle up to 20 billion cans annually, the facility will significantly contribute to improving recycling rates in both France and Europe, enhancing the circularity of our industry. We’re proud to partner with Constellium to source metal with a higher recycled content and drive progress toward our sustainability goals set by our Twentyby30™ program. Since metal recycles forever, it’s essential that we continue to recycle and work together to boost recycling rates and close the loop for a circular economy. RECYCLING FACT: Without the revenue from used beverage cans, most material recovery facilities in the U.S. would not be able to operate. In their new article in Waste Advantage Magazine, Crown's Jennifer Bogs and Vikas C. explain how both aluminum and steel are critical to the nation's recycling system—and how focusing on the right materials, along with strategic infrastructure investments and consumer education, could make all the difference.
