#PlanetPulse | A new report by The Rockefeller Foundation reveals a staggering reality: 3.8 billion people across 72 countries still lack access to sufficient electricity. This energy deficit severely limits their opportunities for economic growth, education, and improved quality of life. The challenge is twofold: how to provide these communities with reliable electricity while also combating climate change. The report calls for 8,700 TWh of clean energy to be deployed by 2050 to close this gap and keep global warming below 2°C. Fortunately, many energy-poor countries possess abundant renewable resources like solar, wind, and geothermal power. By harnessing these resources, they can leapfrog traditional energy infrastructure and adopt sustainable, modern energy systems. To achieve this ambitious goal, we need global cooperation, substantial investment, and a shared commitment to ensuring everyone has access to the green power needed for a sustainable future.
