The Centre for Sustainable Operations and Resilient Supply Chains (CSORSC), University of Adelaide, recently had the honor of welcoming Professor Constantin Blome, Academic Dean of Lancaster University Leipzig, Germany and Co-Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Operations and Production Management (IJOPM), for a brief yet highly impactful visit. The day commenced with an engaging seminar by Prof. Blome on “When It’s the Slaves That Pay: Overcoming Supply Chain Sustainability Challenges”, followed by an introduction to IJOPM for our Adelaide Business School colleagues. In the afternoon, he participated in a workshop with CSORSC directors, Prof. Kannan Govindan & A/Prof. Devika Kannan, PhD students, and visiting students, sharing valuable insights into CSORSC’s research and strategies for publishing in top-tier journals. The visit concluded with a networking dinner, encouraging deeper engagement and future collaborations. 🎆 Happy New Year! 🎆 We are excited to announce that Professor Kannan Govindan - Director of CSORSC will be in the panel speaker of the Two-Day Critical Minerals Symposium and Workshop 2025 in the Australia-India Critical Minerals Research Hub (AICMRH). AICMRH was established following an MoU between Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad and Monash University, witnessed by Hon. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, India, and Hon. Jason Clare MP, Minister for Education, Australia. This innovative research hub has united academicians, researchers and industry leaders from both Australia and India to work on several joint projects focused on the development of methodology for exploration, extraction, processing and recycling of critical minerals. Zahra Sarmast will focus her research on developing sustainable and resilient supply chains within the context of Industry 5.0. It's always heartwarming to reunite with old friends. After nearly five years, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Daria Battini and her research group from Università degli Studi di Padova. During our meeting, we explored numerous possibilities for collaborative projects between our respective groups and universities. Thanks, Daria Battini, for extending such a gracious invitation.
