Anne left us on read. Ouch. It’s starting to feel personal. And not just for us. For everyone. All jokes aside, as much as it stings to be left on read, it pales in comparison to the real pain millions will feel when they lose access to the healthcare services they have grown to rely on. Depend on. Moms who use telehealth to refill ADHD meds for their kids so they don’t miss school. Employees who squeeze in a virtual visit with their psychiatrist during their lunch break, ensuring they stay on top of their prescriptions. Patients in rural areas who don’t have local specialists but can still get the care they need—all because of these waivers. Being left on read? That’s one thing. Taking away access to quality healthcare? That’s something else entirely. Anne Milgram, don’t leave us on read. Simply text us back, so you don't send healthcare back 20 years. We need action. Now. Drug Enforcement Administration #AnneLeftOnRead #Telehealth #HealthPolicy #ActNow Find Out More: https://lnkd.in/eCECiUGW Disclaimer: This video is meant as a joke, but the facts are real. Millions depend on telehealth for critical healthcare services, and we need action to keep access available. CTeL has had no communication with Anne Milgram, and we do not represent her or her agency. This statement is intended to stimulate interest and is a staged notice regarding any communication with the DEA.

Navigating Compliance and Consent in Remote Patient Monitoring: Key Takeaways from CTeL’s RPM Conference As RPM and AI technologies reshape healthcare, staying on top of compliance and data privacy is critical. At CTeL’s annual Remote Patient Monitoring Conference, Adam Solander, partner at King & Spalding, provided an invaluable deep-dive into the complexities of informed consent, data rights, and privacy in RPM. Here are some key takeaways: 1. Informed Consent – Consent must be clear and easily understood for all users, covering service details, data collection, risks, and benefits. 2. Data Privacy Compliance – With RPM generating rich data sets, compliance with HIPAA and state-specific privacy laws is essential. Defined data rights within vendor contracts can safeguard legal protections. 3. Competitive Advantage – Strong compliance isn’t just a requirement; it’s a competitive edge. Investors and regulators increasingly see data privacy as “table stakes” for any serious RPM provider. CMS’s final rule for 2025 for the Medicare OPPS and ASC payment systems paves the way for expanded telehealth access, particularly in Medicaid clinics, behavioral health centers, and rural areas. In this final rule, officially published at the end of this month, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is working to set a powerful precedent by breaking down physical barriers to care and bringing vital services directly to underserved communities. Here’s what you need to know: ✅ Four Walls Requirement Exceptions: IHS, Tribal, and state-option rural and behavioral health clinics can now deliver Medicaid services through telehealth, enabling remote patient care like never before. ✅ Aligning Policies Across Systems: By streamlining telehealth policies across Medicare and Medicaid, CMS is creating consistency for patients and providers, ensuring telehealth isn’t just an option but a robust part of our healthcare framework. ✅ Focus on Access and Equity: These changes underscore CMS's commitment to improving health equity and accessibility by reaching patients where they are, especially in rural and remote areas. This final rule represents a major step forward in CMS’s commitment to modernizing healthcare delivery through innovation and flexibility. Curious about the details and potential impact? In a world where we could wave a wand and make healthcare more accessible, the Telehealth Modernization Act extension would be a magical start! Here are the five big wishes the #telehealth community is hoping to see come true, each aimed at making virtual care accessible, equitable, and sustainable for everyone—no pixie dust required! ***No More Location Limits Imagine a world where patients could access care from anywhere—no need to travel to a specific clinic or hospital. By removing restrictions based on location, this wish would help ensure that patients, especially in rural and underserved areas, can get care without barriers. A true abracadabra moment for access! ***Audio-Only Access for All Not everyone has reliable internet or the latest gadgets, so expanding Medicare’s coverage for audio-only visits is essential. This would keep telehealth accessible to those who need it most, especially in areas with low broadband magic. ***An Enchanted Circle of Eligible Providers From occupational therapists to mental health professionals, a broader range of providers could offer virtual care if this wish is granted. Imagine all the specialists who could join forces (think Avengers, but healthcare) to offer high-quality, team-based telehealth support. ***Poof! No In-Person Requirement for Telemental Health For mental health, removing the in-person visit requirement would lift a major spell of inconvenience, helping patients get the mental health support they need without any extra hoops. Just click, connect, and talk to a therapist. It’s mental health care, simplified! ***Payment Parity—Because Care is Care Last but not least, parity in reimbursement would mean that telehealth visits are valued just as much as in-person ones. This is the kind of financial fairy dust that encourages providers to offer telehealth and ensures patients get the same quality care, no matter the format. If these wishes come true (we're crossing all fingers and toes), we’ll continue to see #telehealth grow as an integral, accessible option in healthcare. As Congress comes back to work and hopefully acts on the Telehealth Modernization Act extension, these changes could make telehealth not just a charmed option but a truly magical, equitable solution for everyone. #TelehealthForAll #HealthcareAccess #TelehealthMagic Follow CTeL on TikTok @CTeLTok https://lnkd.in/dXeduSHg

Unlocking the Future of RPM: Insights from CTeL’s Third Annual RPM Summit The Center for Telehealth and e-Health Law (CTeL) recently hosted its Third Annual RPM Summit, bringing together healthcare leaders, policymakers, and tech innovators to explore how Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and AI are reshaping healthcare. In a powerful session, David Bates from Mass General Brigham and Kapil Parakh, MD, MPH, PhD from Google shared insights on RPM’s potential to enhance clinical outcomes and deliver financial value. Among the key takeaways: -AI’s Impact in RPM: From substance use to chronic disease management, AI-driven RPM enables proactive, targeted interventions, improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency. -Navigating Financial ROI: RPM’s financial value can be seen through readmission reductions, improved quality metrics, and new revenue pathways. -Policy Recommendations for Transparency: A “nutrition label” for RPM tools and standardized compliance protocols can help healthcare systems choose responsibly and confidently. As Dr. Parakh put it, “We’re at a turning point where data-driven insights from RPM and AI can drastically improve patient outcomes, but only if we lay a solid foundation through transparency and collaboration.” 📌 Read our article to dive deeper into the future of RPM and healthcare innovation: https://lnkd.in/eAPseTv6 #CTeLRPMSummit24 #RemotePatientMonitoring #AIinHealthcare #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #HealthPolicy
