  • Crab Knight, a Daytona Beach seafood restaurant, will pay $30,000 to settle an EEOC lawsuit for age discrimination. According to the lawsuit, over a period of several weeks, the restaurant’s kitchen manager made repeated discriminatory comments about an employee’s age and finding someone younger to replace her, before firing her. Such alleged conduct violates the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), which prohibits workplace discrimination against individuals 40 and older. In addition to the settlement, Crab Knight will update its policies and provide yearly training on preventing age discrimination.
