It’s like stepping into another world. Last week, I had the opportunity to tour the eco-friendly, expansive, and imaginative JST campus, thanks to SMPS—Society for Marketing Professional Services and Cunningham-Limp This stunning development, tucked away in Farmington Hills, is something you might breeze past without even noticing. In fact, my office is a mile away and I didn’t even realize it. The project is set to surpass diamond LEED standards, which no other Michigan development has done. I can’t say enough cool things about it. Of its many “green” flags, there is a 16-mile geothermal field that runs 455 feet below the ground. The field will use Earth's core to maintain a temperature of 55 degrees in the buildings, minimizing the energy spent on heating and cooling. Other highlights include thatched roofs, an "animal road" for local wildlife who call the site home, skylights, reclaimed wood, and covered walkways. Sustainable construction and design continues to set the tone for future development, and with projects like JST, the bar is pretty high. #jst #sustainabledesign #realestateattorney #sustainability
