The DaVita Health Tour is back this fall! Beginning September 24th, our mobile health clinic is hitting the road for a third year to deliver preventive care to communities across the nation. We’re providing free health screenings and chronic care education at neighborhood events to equip community members to take control of their health and detect and manage conditions that can lead to chronic diseases, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD) before they progress. With 1 in 7 adults in the U.S. living with CKD, and most unaware of it, it's critical to improve access to health screenings and strengthen kidney health awareness and education. We’re proud to share we achieved Management Leadership for Tomorrow’s (MLT) Black and Hispanic Equity at Work Certifications. These programs were created by MLT to establish a measurable standard for racial equity in the workplace. This achievement is especially exciting as we’re celebrating our 5th annual Week of Belonging at DaVita. Although there is more work to be done, achieving certified status is an important step forward on our journey to create not just an equitable work culture, but an environment where all teammates feel seen, heard and valued. Prioritizing mental health while living with a chronic disease is important, and mentorship can help provide people with support and comfort during a time when they might otherwise feel alone. That's why we have invested in National Kidney Foundation's PEERS program, a mentorship program that allows patients, care partners, and living donors to connect with and support each other through their chronic care journey. At DaVita, we believe in fostering an environment where everyone feels welcomed, supported and celebrated. That's why we created our annual Week of Belonging—a special week dedicated to strengthening our connection with one another. 🎉 This year's theme is "The Story of Us," a powerful reminder of the importance of Team, one of our Core Values. It’s an opportunity for DaVita teammates to connect, share and celebrate how they value and appreciate each other. What makes you feel like you truly belong? Share in the comments. #WeBelong #DaVitaWay
