Last night we welcomed students from across D.C. law schools to our inaugural Back to Law School Mixer. It was a great opportunity for students to learn more about the Bar and its offerings to law students as well as a chance to make connections with D.C. Bar leadership, Communities members, staff, and students from different law schools. A special thanks to our Communities team for putting together such a fun event, and to D.C. Bar President Shaun Snyder and Chief Programs Officer Darrin P. Sobin for welcoming the students as they embark on a challenging, but rewarding journey toward a legal career. Each year, the District’s legal community pulls out all the stops to raise funds for Legal Aid DC’s Making Justice Real Campaign, including some good-natured competition among law firms. Thanks to 76 law firms and more than 4,000 individual donors, the campaign generated $3.7 million this year, shattering its previous fundraising record by $250,000.
