About us

The Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) is a vital member of the Department of Defense. As DoD’s audit arm, we examine the business processes, systems, and financial records of government contractors to ensure contract costs are fair and reasonable. Before an aircraft carrier sails out to sea for the first time, we've been on board. Before a medevac helicopter takes to the skies, we've seen it being made. Our work is varied, and every audit is unique. From day one, the work we do is meaningful to our staff and our country. DCAA auditing is a highly specialized discipline. While rooted in solid accounting and finance education, contract auditing also demands that our highly-motivated and inquisitive auditors have strong analytical skills, written and verbal communication, and the willingness to learn the complexities of auditing government contracts for the DoD. There's no other career in the financial world like one with DCAA. Learn more about DCAA careers on our website or USAJOBS.
