It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of former DIA Director Lt. Gen. Patrick Hughes. During his tenure from 1996-1999, Director Hughes oversaw the groundbreaking of the Missile and Space Intelligence Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and promoted efforts to improve IT and military intelligence information systems to prepare the Agency for 21st century warfare. As a career Army intelligence officer devoted to public service, he made many contributions to national security, and we offer our sincere condolences to his family.
