We just concluded a busy and successful participation at #Aeromart! This key aerospace event allowed us to gain deeper insights into industry challenges and create business opportunities in today’s evolving landscape, alongside key stakeholders such as Aéro Montréal, Boeing, Honeywell, Marmen inc., Bombardier, Dassault Systèmes, Ferreol Skis, IVADO, Centech Mtl, Consortium de recherche et d'innovation en aérospatiale au Québec (CRIAQ), Université de Sherbrooke. ✈️ It was also a strategic opportunity to position our new diplomatic office in Seattle, given that the aerospace sector is a pillar of Québec’s economy and a priority for our engagement in the Pacific Northwest. Did you know? 🏅 Montréal is the 3rd largest aerospace hub in the world, after #Toulouse and #Seattle. 👨🏭 The cluster has nearly 60k workers, including 43k in manufacturing alone. 📈 The industry generates over 20,9G$ in annual sales, with 80% of production exported, making it Québec’s largest export sector. 🏭 The ecosystem includes 5 OEMs, 15 key partners, and 185 suppliers. 💡 With the "Espace Aéro innovation zone", Montréal is strenghthening its attractiveness and competitiveness, particularly in decarbonization and autonomous technologies. 👏 Congratulations to Melanie Lussier and her entire team for this key event, fostering collaborations and showcasing Québec’s expertise on the international stage. Key Highlights of this busy week: 🌳 Meeting with Casey Sixkiller, Director of the Washington State Department of Ecology, to advance discussions on the linkage of the Québec-Washington-California carbon market planned by late 2025. 🌍 Exchange with Reuven Carlyle, former senator, founder and executive vice president at Earth Finance, Inc. to explore strategic partnerships in the green economy sector. ⚡Participation, with Clément Villemont, PhD, in the Canada-Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Innovation Dialogue, co-hosted by the Consulate General of Canada in Seattle | Consulat général du Canada à Seattle and the CleanTech Alliance, with key players such as Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2), Port of Seattle, Port of Portland, Pacific NorthWest Economic Region (PNWER). 💻 Targeted meetings in the high-tech sector with Marie-Soleil Hince-Cloutier and Alexandre Genest. 📚 Inspiring conferences by Québec author Juliana Léveillé-Trudel at the University of Washington, Alliance Française de Seattle and Alliance Française de Portland, in collaboration with the Centre de la francophonie des Amériques and the Association internationale des études québécoises (AIEQ). 🤝 We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners we look forward to building on this momentum in the months ahead.

🤝 Last week, our delegate, David Ruiz, along with the Consul General of Canada in Denver and his team, met the Governor of #Wyoming, Mark Gordon, the Presidents of the Senate and House of Representatives, the Secretary of State, the President of the Wyoming Business Alliance, Renny MacKay, as well as key economic players.   This visit emphasizes the importance of trade relations between Québec and the United States, highlighting key partnerships with this major energy-producing state, which is increasingly mobilized by the rising demands of data centers and A.I. Also, the Wyoming Senate adopted a resolution of friendship toward Canada, an important symbolic gesture made in a particular context.   💡 Did you know that Wyoming offers significant business opportunities for Québec in the energy sector: ✅ 3rd largest net energy supplier in the U.S. (after Texas and Pennsylvania); ✅ 12th highest state in wind power, accounting for 21% of its electricity; ✅ Home of the future largest U.S. wind farm (Chokecherry and Sierra Madre Wind Energy Project - 3500 MW); ✅ 1st in national uranium production, with the largest known reserves. ⚜️ Innergex completed the Boswell Springs wind farm project, (330MW) ⚜️ Marmen inc. is constructing a key component of the Natrium reactor, an advanced and innovative nuclear energy project, with an estimated cost of 4G$US, led by TerraPower (founded by Bill Gates), in partnership with PacifiCorp and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).   We look forward to building of these successes and supporting these exciting opportunities!

🚀 Proud to see a Quebec-based company making strides in the U.S.! 🌍    🛠AtkinsRéalis, a global leader in engineering services and nuclear solutions, is expanding its presence in the Pacific Northwest, having announced a major milestone that they have entered a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 – an employee-owned engineering firm based in Portland, Oregon.     🌎Though AtkinsRéalis has already a presence in the Pacific Northwest through the opening of their facility in Richland in April 2024, this acquisition allows them accelerated growth in the Western United States with AtkinsRéalis acquiring 70% stake in David Evans for approximately US$300 million. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2025 pending customary closing conditions and approvals.     ♻️This collaboration will enhance the ability to meet the growing demand for energy transition solutions, build a stronger future and advance sustainable solutions.     🌟 AtkinsRéalis is a prime example of Quebec's talent and expertise reaching new heights on the global stage.
