This Friday! Join the Black Historic Sites Committee to unveil a state historical marker honoring Cornelius Henderson, the accomplished Black civil engineer who served as chief structural engineer for the Canadian side of the Ambassador Bridge. The event starts at 11 a.m. in Riverside Park in Detroit and will feature a color guard salute, music, and remarks by Black Historic Sites Committee Chair Sharon Sexton, Dr. Rashid Faisal, Jamon Jordan, and other dignitaries. Detroit Lions: Gridiron Heroes celebrates the long history of the Lions - including the team's roots in the NFL of the 1930s, dominance in the 1950s, Hall of Fame-level star power players, and the Dan Campbell-led gritty Lions of today. Along with the main exhibition, see a special pop-up display on Legends Plaza with artifacts from the history-making 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, including a large DET sign that bears the signatures of thousands of attendees.
