Dexis recently worked with FUMEC | Fundación México-Estados Unidos para la Ciencia to develop this roadmap for Mexico to boost its role in North America's semiconductor supply chain. Increased Mexican investment in these areas will help diversify production, enhance technology, and reduce supply chain risks. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gqQhMwxx

Dexis is proud to support USAID’s efforts to promote a stronger nearshoring partnership with Mexico. Dexis worked closely with the Mexico-United States Science Foundation (FUMEC | Fundación México-Estados Unidos para la Ciencia) to produce a roadmap detailing steps that Mexican states and firms must take to increase their presence in North America’s semiconductor supply chain. The report identified important opportunities for Mexico in the semiconductor sector, including assembly, testing and packaging, chemicals and material processing, and even support for microchip design. Greater Mexican investment to strengthen human capital and infrastructure in these areas will enable the US to diversify global semiconductor production, increase technological capacity and employment in the region, and mitigate future negative economic impacts associated with supply chain interruptions. In June, USAID celebrated the public launch of the Agency’s first Mental Health Position Paper with a fireside chat between the Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Global Health, Dr. Atul Gawande, and the U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy. Hosted at the American Psychological Association (APA) in NE DC, the event Mental Health is Health highlighted USAID and Interagency Partners’ renewed commitment to integrating mental health considerations into foreign assistance programming and featured remarks from APA’s Chief of Practice (Dr. Jared Skillings), USAID’s Agency Mental Health Coordinator (Dr. Jerome Galea), and a Zambian youth advocate (Carol Manyele) spearheading mental health efforts in her home country. A huge thank you to our incredible team for organizing such a successful event! With nearly 800 people joining in-person or via the live stream, it was truly inspiring to see so many people come together to support mental health awareness and well-being in foreign assistance. Say hello to Rasha Akkad 👋 Meet Rasha, Senior Trainer & CLA Specialist on the USAID Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Activity which builds the capacity of local monitoring, evaluation, and learning organizations in Jordan. 📈Before Dexis. "I owned and managed an event management company called "It's Different" in Nablus, Palestine. We offered a variety of services, from wedding planning to organizing large conferences and exhibitions, and I successfully captured over 30% of the market share in the first year." 🏅Proud moments. "I am proud of designing and launching a Jordan-only CLA Case Competition in 2023, which helps local implementing partners refine their cases for the global competition. I also created an Arabic video for the CLA foundation, making it more accessible to Arabic-speaking stakeholders. Additionally, I was part of the team managing the USAID Jordan Missions of Leaders program, contributing to its successful implementation and impact." 💜Working at Dexis. "My favorite aspect of working at Dexis is the opportunity to facilitate and deliver advanced MEL and CLA training workshops for USAID staff and implementing partners, fostering continuous learning and improvement in project monitoring and evaluation." 🌍Outside of work. "Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about sustainable living and environmental conservation. I initiated a "Better Planet" campaign focused on using recycling in event management to promote sustainability in Palestine." #DexisStaffSpotlight

Grateful for your contributions, David Young! Check out the recording of our latest #DialogueswithDexis on how to adapt programming to long-term conflicts. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gt7FCDyq
Great to join insightful colleagues for this important discussion on adapting programming to protracted conflicts. Most of my comments were focused on donor-level, bureaucratic, and political challenges that prevent policies for better conflict programming from becoming widely adopted practices across the U.S. Government. Also features great contributions regarding Ethiopia and Ukraine from other panelists. Thank you to Dexis for hosting. The recording is available here: https://lnkd.in/edXgC-xu
