This #WomensHistoryMonth, EMPath is proud to celebrate our president and CEO Kim Janey. Before leading our transformative work, she was breaking down barriers and making history as the first woman and first BIPOC mayor of the City of Boston. We are grateful for her leadership and vision as we work to disrupt poverty in Boston and beyond.

In Boston, many mothers worked from home to bring in extra income while managing the household. WEIU helped these women market their craft goods. By 1955, there were three shops at the WEIU Boylston location and nearly 500 women entrepreneurs made items for them, paying a 25% commission to the Union.
