Today, September 25, marks 100 years of Hastings House, our largest congregate shelter for women and children. While today is a moment of celebration, it’s also a moment where we’re asking for your support. Please join us on our Day of Giving as we work to recover from a recent fire in the east wing of the shelter and help the moms and kids affected get back on their feet. Donate today: https://lnkd.in/eJsDD7eN Like the participants in our programs, Hastings will overcome adversity and thrive, especially with support from you and our community. Thank you! #nonprofit #Boston #disruptpoverty #economicmobility #fundraiser

Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 25, EMPath's Hastings House, our largest congregate shelter for women and children, turns 100 years old. While it will be a moment of celebration, it’s also a moment where we’re asking for your support. A couple of months ago, tragedy struck when there was a fire in the east wing of the shelter. Thankfully, all moms, kids, and staff were safe. But there was significant damage to the building, and moms and kids affected are still working to rebuild their lives. To support our recovery efforts, tomorrow (9/25), we are holding an online Day of Giving for Hastings House. For one day only, your gift will have TWICE the impact. If you'd like to get a head start, you can donate now at: https://lnkd.in/eeewfX72 Together, we can rebuild Hastings House even stronger than ever before. Thank you! #Boston #nonprofit #fundraising #disruptpoverty #donate #economicmobility

As we officially say good-bye to summer, we're looking back at our kick-off event of the summer season: our 200-Year Anniversary Gala! This incredible night gathered hundreds for an exciting night of dancing, conversation, and small bites from some of Boston’s best female chefs, as we celebrated two centuries of transforming lives, empowering women, and advocating for change. Thanks to all who helped make this the most successful gala in EMPath’s history! Check out our latest video below ⤵ to see highlights from this memorable night with our trio of amazing trailblazing honorees: Sandy Edgerley, Shellee Mendes, and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu; one of our inspiring participants, Jessica, who shared her powerful journey in our flagship program; and Latoyia Edwards who led us throughout the night as our incredible emcee. 📹: Isoken Osemwenkhae Studios #disruptpoverty #EMPath200 #Boston #nonprofit #families #economicmobility

As we near the end of summer, EMPath is sending a big thank you to our incredible undergrad interns who brought fresh energy and ideas to the organization over the past few months, helping to advance our mission! Carolina Joy & Jenna Nguyen, who joined our Advocacy team and supported everything from engaging our supporters and advocates on time-sensitive budget items, to crafting policy briefs and reports, to packaging key voter information as part of our voter registration efforts. And Abigail Kubena & Sherley Fede Maximin, who joined us from the Lumpkin Institute for Service Learning at Wellesley College, to support our global learning network, the Economic Mobility Exchange. They collaborated on operations and communications projects for the Exchange, ranging from data analysis, survey design, developing member case studies, and more. Your hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm made a lasting impact at EMPath! Best of luck in your first weeks of school and your future endeavors—we know you'll continue to shine. ✨ #internship #disruptpoverty #nonprofit

Last month, EMPath was thrilled to receive a $20,000 grant from superstar record producer Metro Boomin', who stopped in Boston as part of his “We Trust You” tour with Future. Metro Boomin’ is generously awarding grants to single mother nonprofit organizations at each stop on his tour. The grant program is inspired by his mom, who passed away in 2022. EMPath participants, Jessica and Escarlin, and our staff were so excited to attend the concert and meet Metro Boomin' in person. EMPath is filled with deep gratitude for Metro Boomin’s incredible generosity and support for single moms in our programs. The grant will go a long way in helping so many EMPath moms as they continue to realize their biggest dreams! #disruptpoverty #nonprofit #grant
