Major Throwback moment and a first for me! Last week at DSA Uganda Chapter Fort Portal held at Mountains of the Moon, my colleague Denis Wanyama and I were opportuned to lead a Summer School Session on Data Visualisation and Story Telling with support from Morine Amutorine and the team at UN Global Pulse Uganda. It was a fantastic learning opportunity and a chance to show people in industry and students the impact we can make when Data Visualisation and Storytelling is used in reports particularly to stakeholders. Ii was so exciting seeing the audience's reception towards it was so heart warming and hopefully one or two or many people will pick this and run with it. But work without play, well makes Otim not Jack a dull boy, which is why the hike around Lake Nyamirima though exhausting made the view attached extremely worthwhile. Would I do it again? Time will tell😅 Here's to the first of many presentations!!!

We are thrilled to have successfully hosted the 2024 Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) event at Mountains of the Moon University, Lake Saaka Campus, Fort Portal City! This three-day event brought together a vibrant community of professionals, scholars, and industry leaders, all dedicated to advancing knowledge and fostering innovation in the fields of Data Science and AI. Under the theme “Data Science and AI Horizons: Cultivating Innovations for Sustainable Agriculture, Environment, Health, and Tourism,” the event attracted a diverse range of partners and participants, including higher learning institutions, government ministries, development partners, and tech innovators. Highlights included: Engaging sessions on Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, and their applications in Agriculture, Health, Environment, and Tourism.
