  • No live TGIF-DTRA to join this week, but we're excited to share a replay from a past conversation on the Decentralized Podcast: Inspection Readiness for Decentralized Trials. Sheila Gwizdak, Doug Shaw and John Sikora for a conversation around inspection readiness for decentralized trials and what to be thinking of, with a focus on patient safety and data integrity. Take a listen on your favorite podcast player at 12:00 PM ET and we'll look forward to being live with you again in September! https://lnkd.in/gcRCYk2j

  • The FDA issued a draft guidance, Diversity Action Plans to Improve Enrollment of Participants from Underrepresented Populations in Clinical Studies, to assist medical product sponsors in submitting Diversity Action Plans (DAP) to support certain clinical studies. Diversity Action Plans are intended to increase enrollment of underrepresented populations to improve the data the agency receives.   DTRA looks forward to creating a response with input from all members. Please join us for a moderated discussion on the DAP Guidance with the following agenda. This session will help craft a response to submit to the FDA. 📣 How does the DAP guidance help clarify what's expected and mitigate ambiguity in creating a diversity action plan. 📣 What is still unclear? 📣 How might DCTs help support achieving the DAP? We welcome all DTRA members to join this session! Contact secretariat@dtra.org to receive the invite. https://lnkd.in/g6cZqTte

  • Happening now: Decentralized Trials & Research Alliance (DTRA) is hosting TGIF-DTRA: What more could the FDA do to support the use of DHTs in trials?. Make sure to attend it today.

This week on TGIF-DTRA! What more could the FDA do to support the use of DHTs in trials? Earlier this year, DTRA conducted a survey on Digital Health Technologies (DHTs) and barriers to adoption.  Thank you to those of you who completed the survey! DHT use is increasing - and there are concerns about their use. Join our crowdsourcing conversation on Friday to share your ideas about what would help you drive the adoption of DHTs in your studies. What more could FDA do to support DHT use?

  • Access For All. This mission drives us to continue doing the work until we reach a state that clinical trials are accessible for all patients. We stand behind the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) recommendations to improve access to trials through decentralization efforts. DTRA Leaders formed a CoLab dedicated to creating resources and recommendations on how to best include DCT-specific roles and needs using the 1572 and other forms. We believe the 1572 Form should not be a barrier to getting patients access to clinical trials. Review the outputs and work this team published here --> https://lnkd.in/g8hFD6EV

A new ASCO research statement provides 4 recommendations to improve access to clinical trials through decentralization efforts. The first recommendation is for the Food and Drug Administration to clarify language that causes regulatory and administrative burden, while the other three are for the larger research community.
