🚴♀️ Wheels of Change at Dwelling Place! 🚴♂️ Earlier this summer, we teamed up with Upcycle Bikes, a fantastic local non-profit that’s all about giving new life to old bikes—and creating new opportunities for our community! 💙 We celebrated our first bike distribution where 10 Dwelling Place residents received their very own bikes. These bikes aren’t just for fun—they’re a source of transportation, exercise, and independence for the recipients, helping them access jobs, appointments, and more. 🌟 We’re so grateful to Upcycle Bikes for making this possible, and we’re excited to see how these two wheels will create new paths for our residents! This fall, our Community Building + Engagement team has been hosting Harvest events across Dwelling Place properties, bringing residents together for fun and creativity! From pumpkin decorating to bouquet making, these activities are all about building a strong, connected community. It’s wonderful to see the joy and engagement across our properties!

Lighthouse is thrilled to be part of the Pontiac Housing Workgroup, a group of community development nonprofits partnered with local philanthropy, the City of Pontiac, and Oakland County to collectively develop solutions to Pontiac’s housing challenges with a focus on single-family homeownership. We recently traveled to Muskegon and Grand Rapids to tour several housing developments and learn about innovative funding models used to create affordable housing. Stops included Dwelling Place and Housing Kent. We are proud to be headquartered in #Pontiac and working towards collaborative solutions for affordable housing and other challenges.

Had a fantastic time at the Grand Rapids Chamber COO Roundtable at The Dwelling Place! Grateful to connect with such an amazing group of leaders (though not all are pictured).
