Over 500 large brand new duffle bags were filled with essential & comfort items for LI teens in shelters & foster care - distributed by #BirthdayWishesLI What an impact the Plainview Old Bethpage community made for our LI teens in need!!
Regina Calcaterra, Esq., co-founding partner of Calcaterra Law PC, The New York Times bestselling author, EAC Network CASA of Long Island volunteer (National CASA/GAL Association for Children), recipient of numerous prestigious awards, and an inspiration to New Yorkers as well as the world continues to amaze. Recently, she was the Special Guest Speaker at an event hosted by the PLAINVIEW OLD BETHPAGE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INC, Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District, the Mid-Island Y JCC, and other community members. Together, they collected supplies for teens experiencing homelessness. Calcaterra spoke about her own traumatic experience with homelessness and the foster care system. Now a successful attorney, bestselling author, and advocate for homeless youth, she relayed to participants that the teen population often goes unseen and unheard. Supplies for their comfort and success are minimal, which drives the “Belongings” event. EAC is honored to have Calcaterra as a Long Island CASA volunteer. Her life story perfectly exemplifies why EAC Network strives to Empower, Assist, and Care for New York’s Youth and Children in need. To delve deeper into her life story and truly understand how far she’s come, check out her bestselling book, Etched in Sand. #belongings #plainviewoldbethpageschools #plainviewoldbethpagechamberofcommerce #midislandyjcc #reginacalcaterra #bestsellingauthor #homelessteens #calcaterralawpc #casa #casalongisland #eacnetwork #nonprofit #newyork #longisland #volunteer

Supervised Visitation is available in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties to support court-ordered families who have experienced parent-child alienation. This allows children to continue, rebuild, or establish a relationship with their non-custodial parent without being involved in the conflict. See how you can help: https://hubs.ly/Q02G_NVD0
