Excited to share an inspiring case study on youth climate leadership in rural Colorado! Our own Taylor Ruffin, collaborating with the HEART Force team at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences CU Boulder, has published a case study in Frontiers in Climate featuring Estes Park Middle School's Environmental Resilience Team. Following their personal wildfire evacuation experiences, these remarkable students: • Created emergency go-bags for vulnerable community members • Successfully advocated for SB 23-166, establishing Colorado's Wildfire Resiliency Code Board • Demonstrated how youth-adult partnerships can drive meaningful change in climate resilience Through the partnership between HEART Force and Earth Force, these middle school students didn't just learn about environmental hazards – they became active stakeholders in their community's future. You're invited to Earth Force's next training opportunity! I will be facilitating a Train-the-Trainer edition of environmental action civics (EAC) Core Training! This 4-session virtual course will cover the basics of Environmental Action Civics (EAC), the Earth Force Process, and the basics of facilitating your own training of EAC! You will be welcomed into our new, online community of practice. We will dig into youth voice, civic action, and best practices in training others. This core training is open to US-based trainers, professional development facilitators, directors, and organizations who train adults. Stipends ($500) available for successful course completion.
