Recently, we attended an event where veterans shared invaluable insights on leadership, resilience, and navigating transitions to the corporate world. A standout moment came from Colonel Lee Ellis, USAF (Ret), whose story highlighted the power of purpose and adaptability, teaching us what it means to lead through adversity. Key lessons included the importance of building deep, human connections with our teams, creating safe spaces, and knowing ourselves first through tools like 360 assessments. Veterans bring a mission-driven mindset that aligns with easini’s commitment to cultivating growth-oriented, people-centered cultures. Inspired by their dedication, easini looks forward to welcoming veterans whose values and experiences resonate deeply with our mission.

Leadership Lessons from Veterans: Insights on Growth, Connection, and Purpose Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending an event where veterans shared powerful insights on leadership and transition into the corporate world, including a memorable story by Colonel Lee Ellis, USAF (Ret). His journey underscored resilience, adaptability, and courage, teaching us what it means to lead through adversity. 🌟 Adapt, Improvise, Overcome Veterans bring a mission-driven mindset and resilience that make them invaluable to corporate teams. Colonel Ellis reminded us how purpose and determination fuel resilience, especially in challenging times. 👥 Building Human Connections True leadership begins with knowing your people. Create safe spaces, invest in one-on-one connections, and move beyond surface-level interactions. As one panelist put it, “Build those level 2 relationships and humanize your team.” 🎯 Empowering Growth Embrace the 3 Es: Education, Experience, and Exposure. Provide your teams with opportunities to grow, learn, and lead. Colonel Ellis emphasized, “Help people dream again.” Leadership is about cultivating purpose and nurturing future leaders. 💡 Know Yourself First Self-awareness is key to effective leadership. Colonel Ellis highlighted tools like 360 assessments to enhance self-awareness, reminding us that understanding oneself is essential for inspiring others. Inspired by their alignment with our mission, easini looks forward to hiring veterans in the future. Their credo of resilience, purpose, and service directly aligns with how we aim to help our customers build strong, growth-oriented cultures. 💼 Call to Action If your organization is looking to strengthen its culture and leadership, let’s connect. At easini, we’re inspired to build workplaces where every team member thrives, from veterans to future leaders. Our Leadership Circle Profile 360 assessment provides powerful insights to help leaders grow and succeed. Reach out to explore how we can support your team’s journey toward growth and excellence! Great to connect and meet you yesterday John Fiscus, Zack A Knight, MBA, Gina Gentile, Colonel Lee Ellis, Otan Ayan and Antonio Brito along with others leaders and Veterans at the event. 🙏🏽🖖🏽 #Leadership #VeteransInBusiness #CorporateCulture #ResilientLeadership #PeopleFirst #easini #HireVeterans #GrowthMindset #LeadershipDevelopment

Encourage your team to speak up, even when it means telling you that you’re wrong or about to make a mistake. Leaders, foster an environment where everyone feels safe to share their perspectives without fear of reprimand. ♻️ Share if you found this useful.

Why is psychological safety important? A common challenge in any organization is the loss of crucial information as it moves up the chain, leading to unaddressed issues that impact productivity, quality, and safety. “The more complex the task is, the greater the interdependency across hierarchical levels will be, and the greater the need will be to make the subordinate feel psychologically safe in speaking up and telling the truth upward (Edmondson, 2012; Schein, 2009a, 2013, 2016). ” Excerpt From Organizational Culture and Leadership Edgar H. Schein This is why psychological safety isn’t a feel-good practice for employees but a critical need that enables organizations to navigate and thrive in today’s complex environments. 📝 Comment for a conversation. 🚨 Another great event for the books 🙌🏽. Even though we’re not a tech company, we felt right at home! The event buzzed with innovation and a spirit of collaboration. Huge thanks to the Google team for their warm hospitality—making the event a success for all, including us at easini. A highlight was Tariq’s presentation, where we learned a fun fact: on the day of Google’s AI event, The Terminator was released almost exactly 40 years ago. Was Tariq hinting at something? 😂 (just kidding!) I ran into Andrew Igharo of Katalyst Street, and we discussed the people side of digital transformation. He shared that his company often faces challenges helping clients with DX when motivation to adopt new tools is low. You can’t simply drop new technology on users and expect instant buy-in—like in a trucking company, where truckers won’t immediately start using AI to boost efficiency. Change needs more than just tools; it needs a people-centered approach. This is a topic I wrote about in my article on Digital Transformation before attending Google Next ’24 in Vegas earlier this year. (⭐️ Link in comments!) I had a chance meeting with Tarun Kumar, VP of Customer Success at Pluto7, where we discussed the importance of organizational culture and the challenges in aligning and maintaining it. In the course of our conversation, we discovered a shared connection through the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita—sometimes, the universe really does work in mysterious ways 🫶🏽! Tarun then kindly introduced me to Manju Devadas, CEO of Pluto7, who also firmly believes in the power of culture and its impact on business effectiveness and success. During the networking session filled with fun, play, and some tasty snacks, I had in-depth conversations on organizational culture with Brian BPM Murphy, Chief Scientist at ReliaQuest, and Disha An from SalesLoft. We exchanged life experiences and the unique paths that brought us to where we are today. I had the opportunity to connect and enjoy engaging conversations with a few more kind and interesting folks from various companies 🙏🏽 Nick VanBemmel, Rob Milks, Ravi Maganti, Amardeep Singh, Davis Hester, Hillarie A. Williams, Anil Varma, A.J. Jones and Taylor Calegar. #GoogleCloudLive #InnovationInAction #AIandCulture #NetworkingSuccess #easiniAtGoogle #FutureOfTech #CollaborationCulture #InspiringConnections

October 24th, I had the opportunity to attend TAG-Ed Invest Bridge Builder Event and watch the presentation by fantastic group of leaders about their organizations. Each one of them had a great purpose and benefit to the society at large. Congratulations to Patricia Kelly Marsh, MD of Ask Me Your MD, Inc. (AMY MD) and Toby Egbuna of Chezie (My Nigeria connection 🙌🏽 😄), winners at the TAG Bridge Builder Event and to Pramod Sajja of Farm To Plate & Yamini Sagar of Instarails for their participation. While I watched these leaders I wondered in awe about their skills and felt how lucky their teams must feel to have them lead the effort and purpose of their respective organizations. Besides the event I had the pleasure of meeting a few and converse with them on my favorite topic of Organizational Culture. Joe Desrosiers and I conversed about the amazing culture at Koch industries and he even showed me the AI Conversationalist Fred, with whom you can carry out a conversation and figure out various cultural aspects of the company. There were many investors present at the event and one of my main goal besides spreading word about the work we do at easini, was to converse with Investors to figure out the importance of organizational culture for a company they research investing in. I shared examples such as WD40, Microsoft and MasterCard, of companies that saw their stock valuation grow from double digits to triple, impacted by the positive focused work on their culture. Overall the atmosphere and networking energy was phenomenal and feeding positive energy back into the ecosystem of all the leader present there including myself 🙌🏽. Folks I had the pleasure of meeting included Makarand B., Marcus King (Winner of last years event), Junior Gaspard, Shachar Oren, Pinckney Stephens, Marcelo Bernal and Luke H. Maslow. #TAGBridgeBuilder #CultureMatters #OrganizationalCulture #NetworkingEvent #PurposeDrivenLeadership #LeadershipInAction #easini

…. memory is state-specific, so while in a good mood…. Memory biases our weighing of evidence in a positive direction, making us more likely to do something slightly adventurous or risky” - Chapter 6, Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman. 🔦 The takeaway? Make important decisions when you’re in a positive state of mind. Start your strategic meetings with a light-hearted joke. Create a future-ready organization by keeping the atmosphere fun and open—because a happy mindset leads to better thinking! ✨
