We just read Tapcart's latest report on consumer trends in 2024 and here's what stuck out: 1️⃣ Around 6 in 10 shoppers start their holiday shopping in October or November. 2️⃣ 81% of consumers plan to use mobile shopping apps during BFCM. 3️⃣ 86% of shoppers are planning around a strict budget, with 44% of them scoping out deals a week in advance of purchase. 4️⃣ There's an active dilemma between loyal shoppers and acquiring new ones, with 35% of consumers feeling annoyed by shopping experiences geared towards new customers. 5️⃣ TV and SMS ads may have a near-universal appeal across generations which only grows among older age groups, compared to mobile apps and social media. 6️⃣ Focus on quality messaging over quantity. 66% of Gen Z, 65% of Millennials, 62% of Boomers, and 56% of Gen X cite receiving too many messages from a brand as a reason to unsubscribe.
