    Health Mobius LLC fills a very unique niche in the health care industry. Originally started as a distributor, it stocks about 2,000 SKUs in its warehouse, but is also connected to other distributors like McKesson and Drive Medical, giving the company a catalog of around 80,000 SKUs. Some of these products are direct from the manufacturer, while others come through distribution channels and are drop shipped. Health Mobius leverages this extensive catalog to launch e-commerce applications for its customers, such as HME dealers, DME dealers, and small pharmacies. Basically, they take a lot of busywork off the hands of suppliers of HME, DME and personal care products and help them easily expand their reach. They provide an array of services such as catalog management, pricing, credit card transactions, customer service, and sales tax returns. In addition, its web applications are designed to help healthcare providers sell directly to patients.     Just over a week since Annette Bentley-Smith presented her products to buyers at ECRM's Toy & Learning Session, and already she has one deal in the works! Annette is the creator of Kobe's Storytime Plus Tales, featuring Kobe, a multi-functional plush companion for kids. He has five recorded stories he can tell kids (Annette is the author of several children's books), and even allows parents to download their own stories and messages for a personalized experience for kids. He also has a removable photo album that kids can view while listening.     It's a pairing meant for pairing. Jam Vino by Chef Lorious makes wine infused Jam that's perfect for crackers, grilled cheese sandwiches, French toast and more. Owners Lori and Shane Rogers took the deep heritage of Jam-making in Alabama and blended it with top varietals from California to create a line of delicious Jam with what they refer to as "Calabama" flavors. The line includes: - Blackberry Merlot, with a deep rich flavor - Raspberry Muscato, that has a tart berry hit that was the favorite of ECRM's Joseph Tarnowski - Strawberry Blanc, which is a strawberry/blackberry combo infused with Sauvignon blanc More flavors are on the way, and they also have seasonal gift baskets available that include cheese and charcuterie.     When it comes to functional beverages, the energy and weight management segments are leading the pack, according to NielsenIQ's Jordan Moore, who spoke at ECRM's Center Store Sessions recently and was interviewed by Joseph Tarnowski on some key takeaways from her presentation. Overall, the functional beverage segment (which NIQ considers any beverage that makes a wellness claim) is growing 2 percent faster that RTDs. Energy beverages, which are already a $22 billion category, have seen 10 percent growth vs. a year ago, and weight management beverages, which include those beverages aimed at helping consumers gain muscle as well as speeding up their metabolism and losing weight, are up a whopping 22 percent. Interestingly, protein is making its way into an increasingly diverse array of beverages outside of traditional protein shakes, including coffee (like the new Instant Coffee with Protein by Fire Department Coffee, and the new Genepro Tea). Some functional beverage categories are declining, however. Those under the preventative segment, which focus on brain health, probiotics and immunity is down 8 percent and diabetes related beverages are down 6 percent. Not all is lost though, if you are in one of these segments. While the overall segment may be down, your specific category may be on the rise. A case-in-point is kombucha. While it falls under the preventative segment, the category itself is up 5 percent.     TikTok Shop is changing the way brands do ecommerce. Launched in the U.S. less than a year ago, it's quickly becoming a major ecommerce player across many categories (it's already the 9th largest ecommerce retailer in the health and beauty category, according to NielsenIQ). The reason is simple: It layers a seamless digital shopping experience on top of a social media platform that has a built-in hyper-engaged audience. Not surprisingly, TikTok Shop is a place where brands want to be, and according to Category & Business Development Manager Edward Chen, who spoke with Joseph Tarnowski at ECRM School & Office and Consumer Tech Sessions last week, there are several ways brands can convert with TikTok Shop. This includes the live shopping experience, in which the brand can sell while shooting a live video -- a product demo, for example. There is also the Shop Tab, which curates a selection of products based on a TikTok user's interests. Then there is a search function, which enables users to easily find specific categories or products. Finally, there is the brand page itself which, once set up, is like a brand's store within TikTok. Users can visit the brand page and shop all of its available products. In the video below, Edward shares the various ways in which brands can work with TikTok Shop and provides details on what the onboarding process is like for those brands interested in getting onto the platform.
