Our collaboration with Microsoft reflects our partners’ confidence in both Eion's strategy for enhanced rock weathering and the potential of this category to quickly reach gigaton-scale carbon removal. This fall, we are excited to partner with farmers in the Mid-Atlantic to deploy our olivine and measure every ton of carbon that Eion eliminates! #carbonremoval #enhancedrockweathering #climateaction #climateweek

About us
Eion works with American heartland communities to safely and permanently remove CO2 through enhanced rock weathering (ERW). We figured out how to measure ERW in the field and turn it into a scalable climate solution that removes carbon dioxide, improves soil health, and puts people to work.

A moment of celebration for the industry! The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) just announced $58 million in funding for projects removing atmospheric carbon. We received Carbon Negative Shots for both our independent efforts and a collaborative project with Stanford. Part of DOE's larger Energy Earthshots initiative, the Carbon Negative Shot is an amazing effort to drive the scale and scope of durable carbon removal by investing in innovation. Cheers to all of the recipients!

We're still reflecting on an amazing New York Climate Week! Big thanks to Rubicon Carbon for hosting our CEO Anastasia Pavlovic Hans for a discussion on the need for permanent carbon removal and avoidance projects.
Yesterday was a busy day for us at #NYCClimateWeek. CEO Tom Montag spoke at the Biochar Carbon Revolution Event, and Dr. Nan Pond was a panelist at TerraWatch Space Earth Observation for Climate. In addition, Rubicon Carbon, in collaboration with Women in Carbon, hosted: Why Not Both? A Conversation on Carbon Removals and Avoidance Projects, featuring Amy Brachio Global Vice Chair of Sustainability at EY, Anastasia Pavlovic Hans, CEO at Eion, Andrea Abrahams, Managing Director at IETA and ICROA, and Ariel Hayward, Senior Program Manager, Carbon Removal, at Microsoft. Today we’re looking forward to Carbonomics Unplugged, a Fireside Chat with Rubicon Carbon, featuring CEO Tom Montag and Chief Science Officer Dr. Jennifer Jenkins. In addition, Dr. Jennifer Jenkins will also be speaking at the IETA North American Climate Summit. She’ll be moderating a panel on Forest Carbon MRV: Can LiDAR be a change-changer for the VCM?

We can't think of a better way to kick off New York Climate Week than a segment on CNBC! It was such an honor to welcome their team to Mississippi and illustrate how enhanced rock weathering can have a meaningful impact on farmers, rural communities, and the fight against climate change. As our CEO Anastasia Pavlovic Hans said: "To give you a sense of the order of magnitude, by 2030 Eion will be removing the equivalent of 2 million cars from the road every year." Thank you Diana Olick for bringing our story to life! #newyorkclimateweek #carbonremoval #agtech #climatetech #CDR #enhancedrockweathering #ERW #agritech #climateinnovation

Meet Soroush Rezvanbehbahani, Ph.D., Eion’s Data Scientist 👋 With a diverse background in data science and climate research, Soroush brings a wealth of expertise to our team. Before joining Eion, he honed his technical skills as a data scientist at cars.com and Bayer Crop Science. His academic journey includes a PhD and postdoc research focused on the dynamics of Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets. Beyond his professional roles, Soroush pursued his passion for climate change by developing carbon footprint tracking tools for a non-profit startup. At Eion, Soroush plays a crucial role in using our datasets to calculate the amount of carbon we’ve removed from the atmosphere. He also explores ways to refine our methodology and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our carbon removal process. Soroush was drawn to Eion after learning about our mission in an The OpenAir Collective online seminar. He was impressed by Eion's scientific rigor and collaborative nature. “I love the open and curious culture within the organization," he says. "Everybody is supportive of new ideas, very receptive to feedback and constructive criticism, and passionate about the company's mission.” Motivated by the urgent need to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and climate mitigation actions, Soroush is passionate about contributing to the climate tech industry. “Fighting climate change is a collective effort, and I am thrilled to be part of a community striving to have a lasting positive impact,” he shares. #climatetech #greenjobs #carbonremoval #greenjob #climatejob

Our team recently participated in Carbonfuture’s Carbon Removal Summit, where we shared insights on enhanced weathering as a scalable carbon removal method during the CDR Innovation Showcase panel. We emphasized the critical role of offtakers in ensuring the financability of their agreements. One of the most catalytic actions buyers can take right now is to pursue larger agreements and negotiate terms with financability in mind. Our thanks to Carbonfuture for hosting the event! #carbonremoval #climateaction #CO2removal #CDR
