Today, we’re proud to add another proof point to our continued momentum: We just opened our first station with Costco Wholesale! Again and again, Electric Era’s battery-backed EV charging stations are adding value to customer retail locations. What did it look to team up with another stellar Washington-based company? Here are the details: Electric Era recently worked with Costco Wholesale to deploy fast EV charging stations at their Ridgefield, Washington, location. The challenge? Offer a reliable and rapid deployment solution in just seven weeks, a process that usually takes years. Costco had several essential objectives: • Speed: Meet tight deadlines without delaying the new store opening • Reliability: Provide consistent uptime for an optimal customer experience • Efficiency: Avoid costly grid upgrades and managing energy costs effectively Electric Era’s patented battery-backed technology and full end-to-end solution met Costco’s needs—delivering a comprehensive installation in a fraction of the industry standard timeline (7 weeks from project initiation to full operation). This collaboration didn’t just set a new standard for installation speed but demonstrated how our approach delivers rapid, reliable charging and aligns with retailer’s brand and customer value. Our CEO, Quincy Edmund Lee noted, “This installation exemplifies how Electric Era delivers on unmatched deployment speed and ensures reliable charging infrastructure to meet the growing demands of Costco’s EV-driving members.” EV charging isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s essential. Costco’s decision to choose Electric Era shows how forward-thinking retailers are transforming their operations to delight members. More here from Geekwire. Many recent stats/data points highlight that *there is no slowdown* in EV sales globally or in key markets right now, contradicting prevailing narratives. Globally: • 30.5% = the rise in fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles year-over-year in September. China hit new record numbers while Europe also shifted back into growth mode and the U.S. remains strong (Rho Motion). In the U.S.: • September marked the 6th consecutive month with 100,000+ EV sales in the U.S. EV share of new vehicle sales was 9% in the U.S. in September, "the highest level to date" (Cox Automotive). That also represents a year-over-year rise in sales for new and used EVs • The U.S. overtook Europe in terms of EV sales last quarter on the whole (New AutoMotive / Cox Automotive) • 25.6% = the share of fully electric and plug-in hybrid new car sales in California this year through Q3, per the California New Car Dealers Association (and Axios). There is plenty more data out there; we trust you get the idea. For more, see the attached graphic from BloombergNEF. Tl;dr → we're going to need a lot more EV charging infrastructure! #electricvehicles #EVcharging #EV

Our white paper unveils our theory of how to combine onsite battery storage with EV charging stations to tackle some of our industry's biggest hurdles. Steve Taylor from EVPowerInsights recently took the time to read and reflect on the whitepaper and over the weekend, he featured Electric Era in the EVPowerInsights newsletter. In his words, he crystallized our three-step process for optimizing station configurations as: • Determining the number and output of charging ports • Assessing instantaneous power needs of the station at different utilizations. • Balancing power supply between the grid and battery storage He also called out a critical "standout feature," namely our use of "smaller, easier-to-install transformers, with battery storage handling peak demand to reduce grid strain." Further, he hit home our traction: Electric Era has deployed battery-backed stations across the U.S., completing over 3,700 charging sessions with an uptime of more than 99.5%. We appreciate Steve for taking the time to digest our white paper and offer his support. For more of his reflections, read on in the linked article. Also, be sure to subscribe to EVPowerInsights for more great content. We get a lot out of the newsletters, whether Electric Era is featured or not. https://hubs.ly/Q02W3P6M0 #electricvehicles #EVcharging #EVs

Electric news: We’re proud to formally announce the launch of our battery-backed EV charging station with Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE). Here’s why it matters: We often discuss our battery-backed EV charging stations and the benefits they can offer to a wide range of customers and end users. Don't just take it from us, though. Recently, we partnered with Middle Tennessee Electric ('MTE') to deploy fast EV charging stations in Tennessee after the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation secured partial public funding to build a new DC fast charging station along a major corridor, as they identified a lack of public charging was a pain point for EV owners in their area. MTE had several key requirements when considering with which company to partner to build charging station: • The goal wasn't just profit. It was access. Still, MTE also wanted to ensure they could recover costs. • MTE knew they needed to maximize uptime, as it would reflect on their brand. • They also needed to manage the aesthetics of the charger and its size proactively to comply with the city codes department. They evaluated several EV charging station manufacturers. Surprise—Electric Era won! Here are quotes from Charles Brandon Wagoner, PE, who manages strategy execution and analytics at MTE, on his experience working with Electric Era: 1) "Electric Era was laser-focused on maximizing uptime, which was an approach that differentiated them from other manufacturers." 2) "For us, as the utility, the batteries...are beneficial to us on the whole in terms of grid reliability." 3) "They made this project really easy... We needed someone who could walk us through the installation and know that when they gave us recommendations, they had our best interest in mind." We appreciate the opportunity to work with great, forward-thinking companies like MTE and leaders like Brandon. Estimates for battery energy storage deployment growth are significant, but like solar in the past, they may also be too conservative. Batteries aren’t just great for moving energy through time. One of their under-discussed benefits is they can reduce the need for upstream electric infrastructure upgrades. At Electric Era, we deploy electric vehicle charging stations faster by using a battery-backed design that can obviate the need for expensive electric infrastructure upgrades, promote unmatched uptime, and drive a better customer experience across the board. So far, that’s allowed us to dispense more than 125 MWh of energy across 4,867 EV charging sessions, with greater than 99.5% uptime and perfect demand peak power shaving with the battery. Most importantly, it’s allowed us to deploy chargers this quickly in less than four-years from company inception to today. Battery-backed EV fast charging is the future and we’re excited to do our part to pump global battery energy storage deployment numbers up. Image source: https://hubs.ly/Q02Tz5TC0

Deploying EV charging infrastructure can seem like a chicken-and-egg challenge. The lack of abundant EV charging infrastructure impedes customer adoption, while lower utilization of deployed stations can hurt owner profitability. That said, the U.S. has made significant progress over the past few years; the number of EV charging stations has more than doubled since 2020, and more than 95% of the American public now lives in a county with at least one public EV charging station (Pew Research). Still, it’s critical we continue to put our foot on the pedal to accelerate deployment. To keep pace with EV adoption and to help meet national decarbonization goals, the U.S. has an ambitious goal of deploying 500,000 EV chargers across the country by 2030. Today, the number of private EV charging stations is still < 100,000. Deploying EV fast charging is also notoriously challenging. A single station can consume the equivalent of 1,000 homes of power in one city block, making power access extremely expensive and time-consuming. At Electric Era, we deploy chargers faster by using a battery-backed approach that: • Reduce the need for large and expensive electric infrastructure upgrades • Promote unmatched uptime • Drive a better overall customer experience We need an all-hands-on-deck effort to scale EV charging and we’re excited to play our part. For more reading, check out our latest blog post, in which we break down the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program, which is the federal government’s flagship initiative to fund and deploy more EV charging infrastructure.
