Breast Cancer Awareness Month ends in a few days—but that doesn’t mean the work does. Advocacy groups like Unite for HER and Living Beyond Breast Cancer work year-round to provide people like Lisa with the education, support, resources and (most importantly!) community they need to navigate this disease. Thank you to the dedicated team members across the many advocacy groups committed to people living with breast cancer. Your work is invaluable and important. We’re lucky to partner with powerful and passionate athletes. That includes none other than U.S. Olympian and world champion beach volleyball player, Sara Hughes. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we chatted with Sara about why she’s a fierce advocate for disease awareness and early detection. We appreciate Sara’s willingness to use her voice and skills for good—both on and off the court! #WeAreLilly

How do we continue to improve accessibility for non-apparent disabilities? How do we best support employees who are caregivers? What are we doing to integrate diversity in clinical trials? What are some challenges the Latinx community faces, and how can we overcome those? Those are some of the questions we discussed at our annual diversity, equity and inclusion conference. The day was filled with unique perspectives and experiences that provided invaluable insights. Some of those perspectives came from within our company and some outside, including Actress, Director and Producer America Ferrera and Paralympian Nick Mayhugh. Thank you to everyone who joined us. These are the conversations that need to happen to continue progress. #WeAreLilly

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease kill 41 million people each year. Of these, 17 million people die from NCDs before the age of 70. 86% of these premature deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries, whose health systems are the least equipped to deliver care for chronic diseases. For the Global Week for Action on NCDs, our own Loren Becker tackles the barriers to NCD care and the importance of collective action to address systemic challenges that inhibit access to NCD care. #WeAreLilly

Ensuring accurate representations of obesity in the media is crucial to combat weight bias and stigma and break barriers to comprehensive obesity care. That’s why we’re working with Obesity Action Coalition to promote more accurate, diverse and humanizing portrayals of obesity through an immersive booth and panel discussion at #HLTHUSA.
